soft dust coating my feet.
Capturing shooting stars on my tongue.
Writing out infinity
in my green, bedazzled notebook.
Dislikes:
Nosy astronauts.
Satellites obscuring my view.
When my Rover-Butler Malfunctions.
(Thanks for those, NASA).
Seeking:
Martian who devours music
like fresh picked buggle berries
and breathes carbon dioxide.
No Earthlings need apply.
Tomasi, who was the poetry contest champion this year, reads a poem during her creative writing class.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kennedy Tomasi is a sophomore at PHS.
She started writing poetry at the beginning of the school year and has since then fallen in love with it, she says.
“I definitely wasn’t expecting to place at all, so winning first place was an awesome surprise,” Tomasi said.
